I agree the General not what we’d hoped for because of the Raytheon tie. There’s a reason that retired military people need that waiver for confirmation. I believe a SECDEF should have some military experience — but I’d prefer naming a sharp field grunt, or maybe a deckplate Sailor over flag officers.

I appreciate your style Caitlin…that’s why I follow you. One day, I’ll have to figure out a way to show you the kind face of the military — the not-so-known or heralded real hero stories. Maybe I’ll write a few to show they’re not all warmongers and baby killers.
